Behind on the books? We get you current in weeks, not months.
A backlog is a project, not a monthly service. We scope it, quote it as a fixed fee, and work through it in a defined order: bank reconciliations first, then filings in deadline order, then the clean-up that makes the numbers trustworthy.
The whole job, not the visible half.
Everything below is in scope on the plan that includes catch-up & clean-up bookkeeping. Nothing on this list is an add-on.
- A free review of the backlog: what exists, what is missing, what is at risk
- Bank and card reconciliations for every month behind
- Reconstruction of missing records from statements, invoices and platform reports
- Overdue filings prioritised by penalty exposure and submitted
- Correction of miscoded history so prior-year comparatives are usable
- A clean opening position for the ongoing monthly service
Three situations we see every week.
Companies that have missed filings
Penalties compound. In the UK a second consecutive late filing doubles the fine; in the UAE late CT registration alone is AED 10,000.
Businesses changing accountant mid-mess
The previous firm left a ledger that does not reconcile. We fix it rather than build on it.
Founders who did the books themselves until they could not
It happens to almost everyone. The fix is a project with an end date.
Four steps, then a rhythm.
Free review
Send us access and we assess the backlog in a week: months outstanding, filings overdue, estimated penalty exposure.
Fixed quote
One price for the whole project, agreed before we start.
Reconcile and rebuild
Every bank account, every month, in order. Missing documents are reconstructed from the other side of the transaction.
File and hand over
Overdue returns go in, penalties are appealed where there are grounds, and the books hand over to the monthly service clean.
The rules differ. So does the work.
The same service, applied to each jurisdiction's law. Figures checked September 2026.
HMRC and Companies House penalties are separate and both accrue. We file the most exposed return first and prepare a reasonable-excuse appeal where the facts support one.
Everything about the UK ↗Late corporate tax registration carries an AED 10,000 penalty and late VAT returns start at AED 1,000. We register and file immediately, then complete the historic reconciliation.
Everything about the UAE ↗Unfiled 5472s for foreign-owned LLCs carry a $25,000 penalty each. Where the IRS has not yet assessed, a first-time abatement request often succeeds. We prepare it with the filing.
Everything about the USA ↗One senior accountant. One flat fee. Three countries.
Group figures are Shaazford Global LLC's published numbers across all its service lines.
How far back can you go?
As far as the records exist. Bank statements are usually retrievable for six or seven years, which is enough to rebuild almost any ledger.
Will you appeal penalties?
Where there are grounds, yes, and it is included in the project. We do not promise an outcome; we do put the strongest honest case.
How long does a two-year backlog take?
Typically four to eight weeks for a single entity, depending on transaction volume and how much documentation is missing.
Do I have to move to you afterwards?
No. Some clients hand the clean books to another accountant. Most stay, because the same team now knows the business.

Thirty minutes, no pitch deck. Tell us the entities and the countries, and we will tell you honestly what applies and what it costs.
